We provide an online presence for people to meet, talk about runs / gear / etc, watch videos, and plan kayaking trips. Ulimately, place for the Pacific Northwest kayaker to immerse themselves in paddling when not actually on the river.

EPIC is the Eastern Washington University outdoor program. As a part of Student Life, EPIC is here to give Eastern students the opportunity to try some new and adventurous things outside of the classroom. These activities include backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking (flatwater & whitewater), whitewater rafting, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, biking. If it's human powered and in the outdoors, we probably do it.

The Northwest Whitewater Association is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on recreational boating, established Dec. 1982 in Oregon. NWA is an organization devoted to exploring and enjoying rivers of all kinds in the Northwest. We strive to help introduce new people to the sport through a variety of classes. We work on river access issues in our area, and conduct the annual UpRiver Scrub upper Spokane River clean-up day each fall.

American Whitewater has a long history of partnership with The Mountaineers. Wolf Bauer who started the basic climbing course for The Mountaineers was also a founder of American Whitewater.

AW's original purpose since 1954 has been to distribute information among its Affiliate Clubs. AW's relationship with local clubs has provided the backbone for much of the river conservation and access work it accomplishes throughout the country. Over 100 clubs are now AW Club Affiliates and they are all doing great work on your behalf. If you don't belong to a club, consider joining one of the organizations found on this page.
